Lyrics are important to songs, but do you ever listen to the individual sounds of a drum set and how the product of the different parts create a completely new sound? Do you ever notice how long each note on a guitar lingers in your head before the next note is strummed? Do you ever close your eyes and listen to the ambiance that takes you to another place? Do you hear how a note echos, calling emotions that can’t be put into words? Lyrics aren’t the only thing that give meaning in a song.
My home isn’t just a specific location or person. My home is a state of mind.
Home is when hot chocolate touches my lips in the middle of winter. Home is when I hear laughter from the crowd when I’m on stage. Home is when a stranger says I’m beautiful. Home is when I find the solution to a difficult math problem without assistance. Home is when I gush over a couple in one of my favorite tv shows. Home is when I slide into my best friend’s car and we go on one of our adventures. Home is hearing my baby sister’s voice on the other side of the phone. Home is driving through a cozy street with beautiful trees in the fall. Home is a clean room. Home is watching the sky go from pink to blue as the sun rises in the morning. Home is making my grandparents happy. Home seeing God in unusual or unexpected places. Home is the warm embrace of my sorority sisters. Home is standing in front of a classroom. Home is the glow of Christmas lights. Home is belting out my favorite song lyrics in the car. Home is little, happy surprises. Home is the adrenaline rush from speeding down a hill on my bike. Home is sneaking out onto the roof and watching the stars. Home is finding the perfect pen to write with.
Currently using this blog for ideas for posts on my actual blog because apparently keeping a piece of notebook paper with ideas is too difficult for me. I also couldn’t bear letting my first tumblr rot away. Anyway, don’t mind me!
It’s comforting to know that the same God that’s in control of the good times of life is still in control in the tough times of life. Our difficulties are not a surprise to Him. God will not allow a storm unless He has a divine purpose for it.
Romans 8:28 promises us, “That in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (NIV) God will direct the winds of the storm to blow you where He wants you to go. We see storms as being negative, but God uses the storm to move you from point A to point B. The winds may be strong, the circumstances may look bad, but those winds will blow you to a new level of your destiny.
I think I’m going to delete this blog. What I associate with it has totally turned upside down and I need to cleanse myself of a lot of things right now.

also there is a website where people can vote on the names for planets outside our solar system and some are legit sounding and some are like?? “descending fish” or whatever??? actual planets in actual space what the fuck
oh, right, and then in the only political news that seems like a genuinely good idea i’ve heard in months, there was that whole thing where, due to how dismally bad their economy has been for so long, they have started a kickstarter for the country of greece. that sounds so fake! that doesn’t sound like a real thing none of these do they sound like onion articles but when i heard about it i was like that’s a great idea i hope it works bc i’ve got a friend in greece and i know how bad it is there and it’s not getting the attention it needs
at this point i feel like no news item could surprise me, you could be like “florida has literally broken off of the continent due to popular vote and is now chillin with the bahamas and it is messing up the american economy which secretly is heavily reliant on citrus export and the daytona 500″ and i’d be like sure that sounds reasonable! absolutely!
